Thomas Jefferson is well   known in history as one of the most influential founding fathers, and the third president of the  Unites States.  One of the most controversial subjects that he took a stance on   was slavery.  Jefferson was anti-slavery and pro-slavery in the same breath. he believed that slavery was something that was unjust and not right, but he also believed that America is dependent on slavery and that if they abolished it America would become turmoil.  Jefferson  had become the second largest slave holder in Albemarle County. In his lifetime Jefferson had owned over 600 slaves and gave/sold over 100 slaves. With his split views on slavery he began to weigh more towards slavery, but he went about it in a different way. Throughout the centuries there has been a fight against slavery. There were always people for it and against it. Most people would try to use their religion to justify their actions on whether or not they should condone or condemn slavery. They would use religious excerpts from religious books like the Bible to try and condone slavery but then others would pull other excerpts and letters written by religious leaders to condemn slavery. For the longest time people would try to say that slavery was justified in the Bible because of different epistles including; Ephesians 6:5, Colossians 3:22, and 1 Peter 2:18. Even though when looking at these epistles at a glance on paper and seeing them as if they support slavery, when taking them into consideration and breaking down the meaning of these epistles we see that they are against the slavery that we have come to know today Many people will take verses out of the Bible and just use them to justify their actions but you have to look at the B...

  The Supreme Court remains to be the highest Judicial body on Earth to this day. Originally established on March 4, 1789, the Supreme Courts main responsibility is to interpret the United States Constitution and implicate it to different cases. The Supreme Court is made up of 9 Justices, one which of being the Chief Justice. Throughout the years there have been just over 100 total Justices. the Supreme Court receives over 100 new cases every week. When they get these cases each Justice goes into their chambers to look over each case and form their own opinions on what they think should be done before they have a weekly conference on which cases they think they should discuss. Of course they all don't agree on these cases but regardless, they maintain respect for one another. One of the most interesting and remarkable facts I have learned about the Supreme Court is that before they all sit down to decide on what cases they should discuss they all shake hands.
